Of course they can. It won’t last forever. In fact, it might last only for a short while, but it sure can bring happiness.
BuzzLens is where vanity meets philosophy. BuzzLens is an online magazine / blog about design, fashion, style, designer things, AND a bit of philosophy.
All of us seek happiness. The pursuit may differ from person to person, but the end goal is the same. This site allows you to indulge on material “things”, admire them, but once in a while philosophize how not to end up being a slave to them; There are many sites, blogs and books that will focus on simplicity and advise you to abandon material comfort, maybe it doesn’t have to be that way. At BUZZLENS we explore to see if we can achieve happiness / peace of mind, without completely abandoning material comforts and the things we love!
Welcome!
Few Words from the Editor
I am a designer. No, I do not design clothes, I design software. I architect complex technology solutions. I design great user experiences. I design websites. I invented and engineered technology products. I am a fashion and design enthusiast. Brand name lover. Designer junkie. Bottom-line, I admire good design. I am someone who appreciates Quality and craftsmanship. Right from the design tables and manufacturing lanes, to the sleek lighting effects on advertisements of the end product, “quality and design” can be seen, felt and appreciated. I maybe one of those people who understands the effort that goes into everything.
Here are few questions (some of which I get asked frequently), which might give some insight about this blog!
Are you Happy?
Very much so.
Are people in the fashion world somehow insecure about themselves and unhappy?
Not everyone. In fact most people are not. Ultimate happiness and inner peace are things that I, like many others, pursue. I am here to enjoy design and fashion, and help others enjoy, and maybe get a dose of “happiness philosophy”.
What is your advice for fellow fashion and design followers?
Don’t miss to see the simple things. In my opinion fashion and style are present everywhere. Not just on the runway. It comes from within you. It radiates out of you. It inspires your surroundings. I happened to be someone who can see it and enjoy it. When you acquire something that you really “want”, the joy you experience within you - radiates outwards. It is contagious. You make others happy. As a result you can be even more happier.
On the other hand, Design is something you can and must learn to appreciate as long as you are alive.
Did you study anything? What do you do for a living when you don’t write here?
I am an Electronics Engineer by education. I am also a software architect, business strategist, entrepreneur among many things.
Seriously, what do you do for a living?
Since they don’t have any positions called “Web Surfing Director”, or “Principal TV Watcher”, I am doing the above. Seriously.
How old are you?
Age has no meaning. You are only as old as you think you are.
Are you married?
Depends on who is asking.
Are you on Facebook?
Wait a minute. Should I be? Am I missing anything?
What is your brand?
Abercrombie for casual clothes. (still pretending to believe i am young!) When it comes to denim, Buffalo Jeans, Rock and Republic, 7 for all mankind, Pepe Jeans and PRPS. I am all over the place for Business clothes. Shirts - I like Ithaca line by Tommy Hilfiger. Again, A&F for perfumes. Aldo for Shoes. Banana Republic for belts. Nordstrom and Neiman carry most of the things I need. And, finally Apple for everything that is not clothing.
Where do you live?
Milan. Just kidding. Paris. Kidding again.
London. Half true, but not entirely, because I no longer have a permanent place there. OK, here we go : An hour or so from New York City. Some day I might just move to Helsinki for for the kick of it!
I hope you will find this blog interesting and useful!
